White Hot Leopard

White has been a very underplayed color in my day to day wardrobe.  Let’s face it – monochromatic looks are chic and much easier to maintain in black. However, lately I’ve seen a surge of white all over the runway from shoes, trousers, leathers, etc… that are making me want to brave food stain disasters and travel related mishaps.

Stella McCartney delivered some amazing white pieces in her resort 2013 collection that’s in stores right now. Not only were her “all white everything” looks amazing but also mixed white with leopard and candy colored floral prints. Here are a few of my favorite looks.

To compliment this fun collection, we are releasing a new color in two Stella sunglasses. Incorporating the lovely new leopard but keeping it wearable with warm tortoise brown temples. Below is a sneak peek at the SM-4039 style only:

New York Minutes

Just seven days after we rang in the New Year, I left for New York to attend the Stella McCartney Autumn presentation.

The day after Stella’s whimsical event, I visited their showroom to get a better look at their latest offering.

One of my favorite stores outside of the city is none other than the gem that lies in Manhasset’s beautiful Americana shopping row. Hirshleifers is the dominating force of progressive fashion and endless luxury indulgences, catering haute couture to all the fashion “it” items, and now a cleverly edited men’s assortment in their new men’s shop. Be sure to visit their new home section as well for hard to find knick knacks and chic gifts.

And the rest of my trip was business as usual – great meetings, moods, and cuisine.NYC17 NYC39

Found Tokyo in Portland Oregon

During my trip in Portland Oregon, I found something related to Tokyo. I knew that J.CREW did photo shooting in Tokyo for October issue of their Style Guide but it was available only in USA so I visited to J.CREW’s Pioneer Place store and asked a store manager to see it. She was very kind and gave the last copy to me. Thank you very much! J.CREW TOKYO TRAVELS

Also I found an interesting Tokyo map at Powell’s books. It is called “Crumpled City”. It can easily be crammed into your pocket, no worries about refolding and of course 100% waterproof.  Crumpled City

Check out his latest project as the face of Beefeater Gin in the link provided below. In the video he is wearing the Wilder again as well. Needless to say, this is his favorite frame of the moment.

“Highland Dreams”

Last Wednesday, I attended the Newbark event at one of my favorite LA gems - Just One Eye. Newbark was in full display, offering their A/W 2012 collection for pre-sale and featured their short film Highland Dreams directed by Samuel Bayer, featuring Michele Ouellet.

Newbark is a LA based footwear and handbag line founded and created by sisters Maryam Malakpour and Marjan Malakpour. The fashionable yet functional shoes are all hand crafted in Los Angeles using supple leathers, sturdy canvas, and furs. I was particularly charmed by the English smoking slippers and fur lined knee boots.

I spy Murakami and Damien Hirst pieces....

Herb Ritts – L.A. Style

Opening week I took a visit to the Getty Museum to check out the L.A. Style photo exhibition by American photographer Herb Ritts.

Herb Ritts (1952–2002) put Los Angeles on the map for artistic and fashion photography during the 80′s and 90′s. Ritts’s style of soft and sculpted nudity in natural California landscapes from ocean to dessert provoked a classic yet modern visual.  Ritts’s is responsible for some of the most iconic fashion editorial and celebrity photographs.

“Float”

Vanity Fair Magazine joined  Lisa Eisner and Jacqui Getty to debut the short film video  “Float” produced by Oliver Peoples at Chateau Marmont’s Penthouse 64 last Thursday. The modern yet nostalgic mood in the film of two college students played by actors Dakota Johnson and Thomas McDonell showcase the eye wear beautifully in both optical and sun while giving you butterflies of young love.

The weather that evening was perfect to hang out among old and young Hollywood on the terrace overlooking Sunset Blvd.
